Two Sweet Birthday Party

Oh boy, or in this case, Oh Girl!!! Where does the time go? I feel like it was just yesterday that I was carrying my baby girl in my tummy, and yet….. we just had her second birthday party. The things that I would do to keep my babies…. welp-my babies!!

Okay, on with the party details! Her party came out so stinkin cute, especially for the amount of time that I had to prepare for it and with all of the house projects that we had going on during the week prior to her party. Covid-19, as everyone knows, has been a huge decision factor on how we plan our day to day life, especially when it comes to events; I just wasn’t sure if we were going to have a party for her or not. Last minute, we decided to go through with throwing her, her second birthday party…… and honestly, all judgement towards me aside, I am glad that I did. She is going to have the cutest little pictures to look back on.

The night prior to her big day, I decided that I was going to make her a candy cart. I searched around the web, trying to find a cheap, last minute one…..but let me say, none of them were in my budget. With all of the house projects that we had going on, I had wood to spare, so I put it all to good use. I am so glad that I threw this candy cart together, it truly made the party, the party that it was; it was an adorable attribute! It had a little shelf for candy galore and some cute pink decor. I placed the candy cart underneath a balloon garland and decorated around it as much as possible; I made the candy cart the center piece of the party.

I usually make all of my party balloon garlands myself. I had ordered a balloon pump from Amazon in the past and with each birthday theme, I order the balloons accordingly from Amazon as well. This party, I did something a smidge differently, which I was so pleased with doing; I made my garland by organizing it by color. Usually, I just blow up all of the balloons and then pop them through the balloon tape with no rhyme or reason. I also ordered a couple foil candy balloons and taped them to the garland. From the Dollar Store, I bought balloon sticks and clear basket wrap. After blowing up a couple balloons, I stuck them onto the balloon sticks, and from there I stuck the clear wrap around the balloon and tied it at the end of the balloon around the stick making it look like a giant lollipop. (They came out super cute!!-Sadly, looking through my pictures, I don’t see that I took any of them.)

I bought the cupcake piñata from Target, & used it just as a party prop. I bought the blow up doughnut from Hobby Lobby.

I got a little streamer and banner happy. I literally pinned streamers, banners, and anything else that I could hang from the ceiling to make this party as sweet looking as possible. I used white push pins to match the ceiling so it didn’t look tacky.

In the kitchen, I had another candy bar-I mean, come on, the theme was “Two Sweet!!”

I baked cupcakes, brownies, & cookies. I bought a variety of gummies & doughnuts.
I had a cupcake pan, so I decided to bake her cake myself!

For the party’s main course entrée, this is where my super, last minute, “I don’t want to deal with dishes…..etc. etc.,” attitude came in. I bought, like 6 boxes of different lunch meat, different slices of cheese, a ton of bread rolls, lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes, stuck some mayo and mustard on the counter with chips to choose from as a side and called it a day!!! For an appetizer, I bought cracker and cheese trays. I went all out!! lol, Like I said….. I simply didn’t want to deal with a giant mess afterwards. I’m sure most of you can get where I am coming from.

I just can’t with how cute this was!!!
My Baby Girl
Isn’t she just DARLING!!!

For her party activities, because she was only turning two, I focused on two year old activities. I baked a bunch of plain, pink cupcakes, and set a table for the little princesses to decorate them. I had a few bowls out; two with two different colored frostings and a couple others with different colored sprinkles. From the Dollar Store, I found cute little trays with different sections to put different colored sprinkles in. I also bought several little princess crowns and boas for the girls to wear. {Ugh, they were all so cute!!!} As a mommy, it was the sweetest little thing to watch. My little Emmy Bear, surrounded by her girlfriends, all around her age, sitting around a table decorating little cupcakes! A memory I will never forget.

OOOO-My Heart!!

I also bought some plain little picture frames and a bunch of candy related stickers for an activity. The girls decorated a frame for a picture that was taken of them at the party to put in.

I was planning on making Emarie, a “Two Sweet,” sign to put on her candy cart, but I just ran out of time. But other than that, it came out as planned (adorable) and I wouldn’t have changed anything about it (maybe except my red shirt, I should have wore pink). I actually got really lucky with throwing her a Two Sweet party, because it was right around the time of the year when retailors were putting out all of their Valentine’s decor out!! Score.

Everything was just PRETTY TO THE T!!!
