Kawaii Marvel Toddler Bedroom
Today, I posted in several different areas, pictures of my son, Liam’s, bedroom. I had a lot of people asking where I got certain items to complete his bedroom, so I decided to share a few things here on the blog. First off, let me say that our family are big fan’s of The Avengers, we also love Star Wars, but I will save that for another post! I sort of live through my kids, so being as how Liam isn’t really, crazy, into one particular thing yet, I get to pick what I want him to be into for now. Because Liam is only three years old, I wanted his room to still be “cutesy,” so I decided to make his room Kawaii Marvel Avengers. Kawaii Marvel Avenger’s are cute, babyish, animated characters. They are also kind of hard to come by when it come’s to decorating a bedroom. I got lucky enough and found a few wall pictures at a couple different stores as well as a few TY babies/plushies. We all know that the bedding set plays huge part in the bedroom, sadly I had a really hard time finding him a comforter. I came across a few on Amazon, but they were duvets and came in a Full, Queen, or King, Liam’s bed is a Twin. After searching forever, I gave up and decided to look for the material to make one. I came across an adorable pattern on Joann’s website, the best part about the material was, I got to personalize it with his name. I recently pondered through the site and didn’t run across this particular pattern, but noticed that they added several other patterns of the brand. The five mini character pictures above his bed, I hand drew and then painted. I had zero luck finding these particular pictures as well so I took things into my own hands. I bought the long picture to the right of his bed at kohl’s and the other two next to that one from Hobby Lobby. For his dresser, I changed out the knobs to The Avengers from the ones that came with the dresser. The knobs aren’t Kawaii Marvel, but they look better than the ones that came with it. As for the TY stuffed animals, I have been collecting those from gas stations, and a few other stores over time, one of them being Hobby Lobby.
There’s quite a few more plans that I have for his bedroom, but have yet to get around to doing. I want to paint, “I love you 3000,” somewhere in his room, I am thinking maybe above his closet door, not 100% sure yet though. His room looks a bit cluttered in a couple areas and I don’t want to make it worse. He has a reading nook, which is pretty cute, but kind of busy. I am thinking about adding a built in bench or desk in this area in the future. Also, I have two white shelves hanging on one of his walls, these shelves were put in place above his dresser/changing station back when his room was a nursery. It’s one of those things that is hard for me to pack up because there are a lot of his newbie memorabilia on them….
Liam’s bedroom was actually built for him prior to his arrival; it was once a loft. (Check out, Utilizing Every Inch of Your Home for more details on his added bedroom.) When we were in the process of building his bedroom, I painted the chevron wall, later I added the wall with mountains. The chevron and mountains don’t really play a huge role in the theme, but I thought they were cute so I decided to incorporate them!
As always, Stay Pretty!
His reading nook has a couple of floating shelves, as well as several hanging pictures and bins of books on the floor.
