Emarie’s Baby bedroom

My daughter’s bedroom came out to stinkin adorable! Everything turned out how I imagined my daughter’s room to be before I had her. Actually, we had to literally build her room from scratch; so I was able to somewhat draw up how I wanted it from nothing to something. I took into consideration that it was a nursery, but with that in mind, I didn’t really care for all of the baby pinks and diaper changing table vibes that you get when you think, “nursery.”

I like the bright white and open look, so I kept three walls white and made her wall behind her crib stand out using two shades of purple, some floral decor and her named carved out of wood. I decided to box the center of that wall using a shade of purple, leaving the outside of the boxed area white. The bordered trim, I painted purple with a pink tint to it, giving it some dimension.

I used a SureSwatch 9in. X 12in. paintable clear film, from Home Depot, to test the paint colors on my wall. It’s a clear sticker that you stick on the wall and paint swatches on to see how you’d like the color up before going gun-hold and painting the whole wall. I left my sticker up above Emarie’s crib with my three favorite colors painted on it for several days before making my final decision.

I boxed off the center by using a measuring tape and measuring a foot in from the left and right wall, and two feet from the ceiling and from the floor. By doing this, it gave me an even sized square, perfectly centered behind Emmy Bear’s crib. After getting the square I wanted, I used painters tape at the corners of my box and within the tape, I placed the border trim and used a nail gun to nail the trim up. Prior to nailing the trim up, I painted them; it’s a little easier to paint the trim before putting it up opposed to painting it when it’s up on your wall.

I ordered my wooden name off of Etsy. I bought my sign from ProfessionalArtworkC, it’s made from birch plywood and laser’ed cut at 36 Inches, November Script font, & I decided to keep it natural with no color. I love the way it came out; the quality is great and it fits perfectly behind her crib.

I bought my floral decor from Hobby lobby. I wanted a couple large and a couple medium and small; they have variety of sizes and colors.

My daughter’s crib is actually a crib that I used for both of my sons. I sanded & painted it to get the gray that it is.

I bought sticker wallpaper from Target, white with gold polka dots, and used it inside of her closet; I used what was left from that for the side of a shelf that she has in the corner of her bedroom. I purchased two packs, each pack of the wallpaper came with two rolls.

Inside of her closet.

I used the wallpaper on the side of this shelf/mirror.

Looking at her crib, to the right of it, I painted a phrase that I found and loved. I did this freehand, but you can cricut or buy stencils to make this.

On the opposite wall, I hung a couple of ballerina dancers and on the far left side of the window, I hung a floral picture matching floral stickers behind the picture. You can find these pictures on Etsy. I got lucky and found them on Wish. They kind of started peeling along the edges, due to the ceiling vent, so I used some clear tape in a few areas, you can’t even tell and it’s holding great.

I got really lucky with the stickers, they go so well with the picture!!

For all of my final touches that brought the room together, I used self portraits of Emarie with cute picture frames, pretty little dolls, organizing bins, beautiful blankets, changed out the dresser knobs, and ordered a personalized jewelry box for her. Everything came out, just so perfect; the pictures really don’t do her room justice!
